Changes to reseller plans
We have recently made the change to all of our plans, this involves user control panels. There is no longer a one time fee on extra control panels. It has been changed to a monthly fee of $.50 per control panel over the allotted free control panels, it will cost corporate reseller's $.40 per extra control panel. This only effects resellers, not managed dedicated hosting. You will see this on your next billing cycle. Now is the time to condense your domains into fewer accounts. Also we have gone through and noticed thousands of accounts awaiting moderation. We have cleaned up the accounts with more than 100 accounts awaiting moderation and this was done for free, next time there will be a $125 clean up fee. The more accounts that you can condense the sooner we will be able to upgrade to the newest stable version of hsphere.

So just to be clear.
I have 3 reseller accounts with you. One has 150 user accounts, another has 120 user accounts with control panel access Starting now, you are going to charge me $.50/month for the user accounts above those given free in the plan? Even though I already payed $4.00 each time I added one even. or Is it if I add more then I have right at this moment of the announcement, I get charged the $.50/month.

I'm curious why the sudden imposition of a new fee? The pricing HSphere has set per account doesn't appear to have changed as of ver 3.0 patch 2. Are we getting some new service per month per account / cp? Is there a maintenance issue here? When new fees are imposed I would like to know the reason behind it, and as significant a change as this represents from the last nearly 5 years I've been here - I hope there's more of a reason than "just because".

Double or Triple a reseller's bill..
Do you want us ALL to leave? This is what is sounds like!
If the service and reliability here was as great as it used to be then maybe you could consider something like this but Vortech will soon be two releases behind with H-Sphere. This sounds like what some of the credit card companies do. You have a nice balance on your card and make your payments and without notice you get slammed with a usury interest rate if you're late by one minute on a payment. Come to think of it ...we weren't even late on a payment and we got slammed. I strongly urge Vortech to reconsider this decision. This is not good business and is not right. b |

This whole handling seems unprofessional and out of line. Seems like money needs to be made up somewhere so this is how to get it. Also I donot see how you can change terms on accts that already paid, just seems to be a contract violation to me. There were supposed to be some good things coming, then nothing now this. Really does make a loyal customer feel unwelcome.

As for a legal view, this is not acceptable. Cause the onetime fee has been charged, and processed, so by stopping it, that's violation. Anyway, if your company had decided to use this policy. So you must enable us in deleting and changing username of the user control panels, if not, that will be not a small buch wasted. Best Regards, Quang, Mai Duy |

I hope this is just a poorly worded announcement, licenses are purchased from Parallels in Packs for one-time fees, changing your billing policy to a monthly usage fee seems to be couter-productive to retaining your reseller client base .. or to put it a little more honestly it's price gouging considering we've all already paid Vortech for those current licences in use and Vortech have therefore already recovered their initial costs (in fact probably considerably over recovered based on the fact that we are never refunded when we delete an account freeing up a license but are still charged another $x for every new account)
I hope someone urgently posts someone clarification to this process because if this is going to increase my bill by roughly 50% per month based on my current license/usage then it's definitely time for me to wave goodbye to you all and move elsewhere. If this additional revenue you'll be earning is guaranteed to be spent on upgrades (anyone remember the last time a new server was even added to the cluster??) then I may rethink, but right now, not looking likely. |

I think Vortech want to CLOSE the hosting business, at least what it appears.
We have been charged a one time fee of $4 for each extra accounts, and now with this new calculations, we should pay $0.5 for each of them monthly, and for us is extra $180 a month that is not acceptable. If this is serious and Vortech really want to do this, should think something to return the previous $4 for each account, and we will leave here for sure. Also if Vortech wants to do this, I strongly suggest that give us at least 2 months to move our accounts to somewhere else. |
