UNIX6.hsphere.cc is currently down for upgrade and repairs. We encountered a fatal kernel error during a minor revision update and are having to rebuild the machine. We anticipate the machine being back online at around 6:30PM EST, however it could be sooner.

Hey Folks,

UNIX6 is back online. It just so happens this machine had a bad networking configuration. It was looking for the wrong type of network card on bootup. This machine had been running for around 7 months without a reboot, meaning it was just a timebomb since it would not come up on reboot. At any rate. the machine is upgraded and stable now. It will be returning to the data center shortly.

Regarding the past few minutes of additional downtime:

The server has been returned to the data center. It should be functional for everyone now. Calls are flooding the phones regarding this, so if you see this message and were calling in reference to Unix6, please open a trouble ticket instead for faster service.
