2004-09-29: CP and Windows Servers

We are beginning the process of upgrading HSphere on the Windows server. The CP upgrade will begin in approx. 30 minutes.

CP coming down now...

CP is back up... Still finishing up the NT boxes.

We have some unexpected weirdness with 2.4.1. Psoft is working on it with us.

I noticed some of the icons have disappeared, would these types of updates be more suited to weekends when clients aren't accessing control panels?

Good point. But although it's midday Thursday here (Oz), in Florida it's more like midnight, so not too many clients will be up with their CPs. And if they are, at least they're not gonna call you at midnight.

No, Psoft isn't around on the Weekends, which is why we choose weeknights like this... then they can help us out

Theres really no good time so to speak .. for instance over this side of the world half of the US weekend is my working week and vice versa.

This upgrade though, I don't recall it being "scheduled" ... I knew it might happen 'coz I was chatting with Matt the other day, but did anything official go out on the mailing list?

I got a service announcement about it on 9/23. Several other bits in that announcement about things happening over a couple of weeks.

One of the things was the schedule for configuring the windows servers for impersonation. Haven't seen anything about progress though, so I assume everthing's happening on schedule.

Other items were hardware upgrades on NT10 on Oct. 5th, and notice of the Spam Assassin update to include Razor, Bayes, et al.
