H-SPhere 2.4 Patch 3 Almost Live!!

NOW on patch3 this should be the last patch unless we see issue before we upgrade.


Ok please take a little time to login and look around and report any bugs here. It would be a BIG help.

This is our test system for H-Sphere 2.4.

This is a test reseller account. You can setup accounts look around and get use to it. Once a week or so we will clean out the account and reset it up.


This is running 2.4 Patch 3. We are giving 2.4 about a week to two weeks before going live on our main system as long as no MAJOR bugs are reports to us or psoft. This will also give us time to make sure all of our custom work can be moved over smoothly.

We could really use more of you to login and test this system. The future functionality and reliability of H-Sphere depends on the bugs and glitches that YOU the actual Resellers find. Without it, we could be going into an upgrade blindly.

Looks great to me Craig. Accounts seem to be created just fine, all the functions in the control panel work (well except for email of course).

The skins are quite nice.

What version of Front Page extensions are being used now? Any chance we'll get sharepoint services in this release?

Nope still no sharepoint. FP is still 2002 as well.

I noticed two things:

1) the language switched from English to Dutch when I selected "Domain Registrar" on the "Settings" menu the first time. I changed the language back to English and seemed to stick.
2) the skin changed completely when I selected "Domain Registrar" again. I went back one window and repeated "Domain Registrar" and the skin didn't change this time.

Maybe there was somebody else testing and we were affecting each other? Or maybe this is a warning - don' t mess with domain registrars.

Nice new skin and some improvements in mail management, but

Hsphere still handles translations badly. Large portion of the system is still not translated (help files come to mind).
Typos everywhere.
Same over two years old bugs when you want to add resources : {0}
Still tons of unnecessary junk in the cp and we cannot remove it (counter,etc.)

Impossible to test webshell and SSL.
Site Studio seems to be gone, which is a good thing.

I noticed a different language (German perhaps?) on some of the screens as I was setting up an account. But other than that all went well. I took a printscreen of the last page which included the other language. If you would like to see it, email me and I will send it wherever necessary...

oh, you were the one who changed everything to dutch, yes I changed it back, cant read dutch.

Yes everything isd changing around as we check it out because everyones playing with it, so I assume you were the one who activated my account. I tried to activate it and someone already had.

I signed up for one of the plans (as a user), and am now looking for the "Awaiting Approval/Moderation" area (as the reseller) that I normally use to approve pending sign-ups/check payments...

Maybe a dumb question, but where is it?

I am not sure what I am looking for but I poked around and clicked the links. It seemed to work for me. It took me awhile to figure out the quick reply thing; I had to rest my mouse on various icons to find it, but I got it now.

besides the skin changing back to the current brown look, everything looked fine. I just logged in quickly, didn't read if this has already been talked about , but that's the only thing I noticed.

would be ideal if the system allows you to turn off things like trouble ticket system and all accounts/invoices/billing sections.... very handy for those of us that run our own billing (and use "no billing" plans)....

can anyone advise?

I also use non billable plans but it doesn't disturb me when it is there.
I see that the trouble ticket thing and knowledge base is improved. I hope
it is better than before. Now i didn't use it because to hard specified to
Vortechhosting. And there was no possibility to add own items to knowledge base
or am i wrong?

Email is also a lot better i think. Now you can set an autoresponder on a forwarded emailadress! Or not? That would be cool if you can combine the various email types.

But in the reseller side there is no big changes i think! I saw AWstats (which is cool) added and the troubleticket/knowledge base thing but nothing more or is there more done?

And yes where is sitestudio, ms sql, pgsql? I don't use it but it seemed useful!

regarding the changing language (Dutch/German) some people have seen... I'm guessing that's because other people are changing your CP configuration at the same time you're testing things... just my $0.02
