My opinion (as a prior ISO for a cc processor ("EPI" sold to Wells Fargo))... and I am hesitant to reply because I don't want to step on TraceWeb's toes... but here goes.

I just set up a new client who will be selling online only with PayPal... their rates cannot be beat and the financial strength of eBay gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

My advice was... well heck... I'll attach it below... my advice was to use Charge.com if they decide to start selling from a B&M store and since they already bank with BOA, I suggested that be considered...

Attachment...
To answer the question posed about credit card merchant accounts, I can address the online aspect of it safely by recommending PayPal however... if you wish to use this merchant account for point of sale (POS) with a terminal ... you may have to consider Bank of America or Charge.com

There are a number of key issues when considering a merchant account... the number one to me is reliability. There are a countless number of new virtual banks and affiliate merchant account / third party processors out there and they seem to come and go. Sticking to financial companies that are established and have history is advisable if for no other reason than their revenue comes from a diverse product base and not simply credit card processing. PayPal does specialize in online transactions but they are backed by E-Bay, a much larger and more diverse corporation.

Other things to consider:
· Set up fees
· Transaction fees
· Buy rate (% of each transaction)
· Monthly fees
· Gateway fees
· Statement fees
· Special software cost

Another reason I hesitate recommending a financial institution is because IT'S YOUR MONEY and I want you to be happy and comfortable with the bank and the processor you chose through your own due diligence. With that in mind... here are some other online options for you to review for yourself.

www.paypal.com
www.paysystems.com
www.ccnow.com
www.propay.com
www.charge.com
www.ibill.com
www.digibuy.com

pablo:

I do know of a company in columbia selling a product online.

XIGLA SOFTWARE LTDA. They sell a few products including livesupport, a great live support product which I use for my site. They use a payment processing company called: www.shareit.com

you might want to give that a try as it appears to work for them.

tracewebspace,

Does PayQuake allow recurring billing?

Either way, I'm going to sign up through your reseller link. I'm getting sick of all the fees I'm paying. I got screwed by E-Commerce Exchange and Innovative Merchant Solutions. I don't use my merch acct to justify all the fees. I really got raped with a 4 year lease thing that I got suckered into. Really pisses me off.

Thanks,

Thumbs up I Signed with Payquake thru traceweb

I signed up last week and I'm still running in test mode at authorize.net.

I am very impressed with their sign up procedures and the people out in Arizona. for a new guy with no history I think I was treated with respect and a quality of service i didn't actually expect.

I also use paypal and I don't think there really is an issue of Paypal or else.

I needed a fully integrated solution that allows my business customers to enter credit cards with ease, get a report on my site about order status and more important for my custom business, allows me to authorize payments but hold processing until I add freight costs and ship the product 2 or 3 weeks later.

The integration with Candypress is seamless. The price is great and I don't mind paying a little higher percentage per transaction if it means I can offer good service and look like the big guys.

Here's the Tracewebspace signup link again

Yes, you can do billing but it is through Authorize.net. Payquake is just the front end, Authorize.net is your backend and actual processing company.

Here is their announcment about it:
Quote:
30 September 2003 New Automated Recurring Billing Service
Authorize.Net is committed to providing you with new payment gateway tools and services to meet your evolving business needs. Now you can increase customer loyalty while reducing authorization declines and overall administrative costs by offering your customers a new billing option—Automated Recurring Billing (ARB)!

ARB is a powerful tool that provides you with a reliable and secure way to manage recurring billing. Simply create an ARB “subscription” that includes the customer’s payment information, billing amount, and a specific billing interval and duration. ARB does the rest, automatically generating the subsequent recurring transactions based on the schedule you set.

Highlights of the new ARB service include:

Three methods for creating ARB subscriptions:
Enter subscription information (using a form similar to the Virtual Terminal)
Create a new subscription based on a previous, successfully authorized transaction
Upload a file containing several subscription records to the payment gateway
Flexible billing intervals, from weekly to annually and anything in between
Create upfront trial periods and pricing
Search feature specifically for locating subscriptions
And more!
Sign up for the ARB service today! Click Automated Billing in the Merchant Interface main menu, and review the Terms of Service. For detailed information about ARB features, instructions on how to sign up and how to create subscriptions, please see the What’s New Guide – Merchants.

Now the downside: Authorize.net charges extra for this servcie:
Automated Recurring Billing Fees
Setup Fee: $60.00
Monthly Fee: $21.50

So if your other company includes it, your costs may be close in the long run.

Either way, you will be happy if you choose to use payquake and Authorize.net.

good luck, any other questions just ask... greg

Thanks nhdonny.

I am glad everyone is happy with payquake so far.

For all of you resellers, don't forget to sign up for their partner program yourself once you start using payquake so you can get credit for your own clients accounts you sign up. There is a process where they have to accept you and thats usually based upon your expected signups, so not eveyone will be accepted.

If anyone has any problems etc with payquake that they can not get resolved or that the service does not meet expitations and you signed up throught my link, just contact me and I can help to resolve the issue.

thanks again, greg.

Nothing like bringing an old post back to life but I have a question. I was wondering if anyone had tried "YourPay.com" as a credit card processing program. I have a customer that is wanting to use this for their store that is not web based. They are wanting to use this app with their program that we wrote for them. I just don't want to do it unless I know the program will work well for them. Thanks for any info that you give.
