What do you think about this webmail?
http://www.webmailasp.net
It is a windows based email, yes, I know. But I can tell you I was impressed with it, It has a one time setup that requires email address, username, password, and pop3 account, but after that all one needs is email address/password. It supports importing email contacts from other mail programs, and has a slick interface, and the price isn't too bad either! All required componets are already installed. |

I would go with SquirrelMail. It's PHP-based, has a good interface and unlimited features, and it's open-source. There are many great plugins currently available (developed by community) too. More information: http://www.squirrelmail.org But.. if you like an ASP solution, WebmailASP is a good choice. ![]() |

SquirrelMail is lacking in my opinion, if you track other posts i make, I am not a fan of ASP, i much prefer PHP.

Yea I don't like ether one of them.. Really don't want something like webmail on windows... That would just be bad.. I don't care what it cost but any WEBmail that can check pop3 I am open for.

Admin,
Probably already answered my own question, but it must be a webmail that runs on unix, correct? So probably something PHP... No ASP allowed? |

Ok if we get something like atmail does any one see a problem with droping the other 2. We would like to only have one really nice webmail.

atmail looks really nice, I'm all for it.
Just curious, how do u think performance will be? I noticed it was written in perl, I'm not sure if that means anything... |

perl and PHP are about the same speed. Both faster then asp and .net..
![]() We will put it up see how it works out if all goes well then we will switch from the others to it.

Sounds like a proper switch
![]() I would have no problems saying "goodbye" to SQWebMail and IMP - besides they don't even display HTML messages properly, so I don't think they'd be missed. All you resellers out there, can we just take a minute to give admin a bit of thanks for taking the extended time and effort to even consider upgrading, much more actually planning on it. It's this type of proactive approach to hosting (proper hosting) that I think brought many of us here. How many hosts out there actually spend their time (and profits) trying to help us, the customer? Well, it looks like we found one. Here, here, to Matrix. Sometimes we get mad at you when stuff isn't working, but it's when you get that stuff fixed and when you improve your services for all of us that we really are grateful for. NOW, IS IT READY YET?!!! ![]() |
