Moving Service Domain to UNIX
For various reasons, I would like to move my Service Domain from a W2K plan over to a UNIX plan. According to my support ticket and to this thread (threadid=300) this is possible to do WITHOUT affecting my customer sites.
However: I have two clients who have Stop Gap domains (with dedicated IPs) that are based on my service domain. They do not actually use the stopgap domain, but they DO point their DNS over to the dedicated IPs that are associated with their stopgaps. I also have one client using a third level domain in the exact same way. If I delete and then recreate my service domain, would it take down these three sites, or would they stay available because they have dedicated IPs? Thanks for any advice.

Hello,
the actual hosting of the service domain is seperate from your dns zone. Removinb the service domain to put it on a new hosting plan should not affect anything else. |
