I will add this..
When you setup h-SPhere its alot of work. All the service domain setup and DNS zones and getting everything just right is hard. I didn't think it was hard, but i say it is hard because not a day goes by that i am not helping someone get started,, so it must not be that easy.

In Cpanel,, we do all the initial setup for you. Basically all you need to do is register the nameservers and create some plans.

I mean, would I have to signup for cpanel, then your credit me for my hsphere reseller plan??

Would I have a different name server address or domain IP address (I just switched to the shared IP you requested everyone to do)? Would this affect my client who has a dedicated IP for his SSL?

Would there be any downtime for my clients whom I am hosting in hsphere?

Not really sure how switching reseller plans works. Can you post some instructions on how we go about it? I really would prefer the cpanel reseller plan.

A: No we will not move credits around. I am going to post something about this in a little bit as users keep moving from one system back to the other and then back again.. Its really becoming a problem.

A: You would have shared DNS ip's on CPanel as well.

Would this affect my client who has a dedicated IP for his SSL?

A: Yes as you would have to move there SSL certs over.

Would there be any downtime for my clients whom I am hosting in hsphere?

A: If you move them yes.

A: More less signup for CPanel set it up move them over. When your done close your account in H-Sphere.

Thanks admin for your reply. Just a few more questions:

Is this something I can do alone, or would I need to involve Thawte and have them reissue the certificate?

So, when I signup for cpanel, I will be charged on my credit card for the cpanel reseller plan. Once I'm setup, I cancel my hsphere account and you credit my credit card for the unused months under the hsphere reseller plan. Right?

Any reply?

1. About the ssl question.

2. How will I be billed/credited on my credit card for switching plans?

sandgat,

1) You would treat this SSL move as if you were moving to another host.

2) We can't credit or carry over any billing info from H_Sphere into the CPanel system. If your worried about unused time then you should use it up before you move to CPanel.

Either I'm not making myself clear, or you're still not undestanding me.

If I switched to the cpanel plan, I would not expect to have any credit WITHIN the cpanel plan. I'm talking about what I would be charged/credited on my CREDIT CARD.

You mean to say, if I cancelled my reseller plan with you now, I would not get a credit on my CREDIT CARD for the unused months I prepaid for?

It seems logical that I would sign up for the Morpheus cpanel plan and pay $420 on my credit card. Then, once I got all my clients moved over, I would cancel my hsphere plan and be credited some amount (from the $420 I paid originally for hsphere) on my CREDIT CARD. I don't need both plans. I just want cpanel. Is this how I go about switching?

Where would I find instructions for this?

Are you SURE you want to fully switch from HSphere to CPanel permanently? I think they are just trying to discourage people from switching back and forth, it is too costly (time wise and mentally) to allow people to give CPanel a "trial" run and then for them to switch right back.

OK, I found out from the Thawte site how to change hosting providers. Basically, it's a reissue.

But, I would like to get going with cpanel. Can someone answer my billing quetion?

Thanks

Normally we would not do any credits like this, especially for a downgraded or lower priced plan. We will only do this for people who have pre-paid 6 months or more. You happen to be one of those poeple.

What you need to do is figure out exactly when you want your H-Sphere account cancelled/deleted. We will not do any partial month credits so work it out around your rebill date.
Then send an email to billing@vortechhosting.com or call them and they will credit the unused months into your new CPanel account.

Keep in mind you will not get any credit if you want to move back to H-Sphere. One move thats it.

We don't do billing questions on the board, so you'll have to contact then directly via phone or email.

No problem,,

I should add also that you'll want to have your CPanel plan at the time (or before) you cancel the H-Sphere account so we have somewhere to put the credit.

What does the End User Want

As a reseller H-sphere sounds like the way to go or is it?

Ultimately, I want to offer what is popular and preferred by my clients.
cpanel, for added features, but could create a support night mare, how does this and that work????????
ensim, falls somewhere in the middle.
Plesk, for simplicity for newbies.

Also, I didn't see a backup website on hshpere?

If thats what their comfortable with, I'll suffer a little and learn to use it.
