CPPGSQL Maintenance Window

On Friday 10/28/2005, we will be performing routine maintenance on the CP database. It is necessary to perform this maintenance in order to keep the control panel responsive and stable. We will need to take the control panel down for 2-4 hours while the database is being worked on. The maintenance will start at 11PM EST on 10/28 and be complete by 3AM EST on 10/29. Only the control panel will be down during this time. No user sites, databases, or email will be affected.

EST is what, GMT - 5? Are you on Daylight saving time?

As a gesture to those of us outside the USofA could you add a GMT/UST time stamp to the notification messages you send out? You're a global company now! :-)

Not that it matters in this case - it'll be the middle of the night here.

We are in GMT+6 region and that mean, I think we need to 12 hours to EST.

GMT-5 to GMT+6 is 11 hours ;-)

And I just realised that it will be the middle of the day here. At least I'll be on duty to answer the phone calls...

Anyway, I now realise that I was wrong and it is only +11 hours

See, this is why I always wanted these time values in GMT

Hey... look on the bright side...
They could be doing this on Saturday Night/Sunday Morning when we move our clocks back an hour. The time change would happen in the middle of all this so if it was done during that period, it would only take 3 hours... unless your not in the US... then it would take 4 hours.

Now I'm going to have to start counting on my fingers... Maybe thats why I'm always an hour late...

Actually where I have made mistakes in the past is forgetting the date change - so 3am Saturday Vortech time is really 4pm Sunday Malcolm time...

So please can we have announcements in GMT too?

The maintenance has finished and the CP is back up.

We have removed 3.7GB of overhead from the database and it is now fully reordered.
