.NET 2.0 is not supported, and there are currently no dates announced with respect to when it may be supported. If you want .NET2 then you would have to purchase a dedicated server and install it yourself.

H-Sphere 2.5 is almost out and it will make it a bit easier for us to support asp.net but we are still looking at 4 to 6 months to get it in to our current cluster. This due the track record from psoft and the updates, they tend to cause more issues up to about Patach 3 or 4 than they do anyone any good.

Installing and support asp.net 2 will be easy waiting on the H-Sphere not so much fun.

Yeah theres a problem with the search button from the home page of the forum. You have to either clikc the search button from within a thread, or type the link in manually. http://forum.vortechhosting.com/search.html

Quick question.

If/When 2.0 will be supported, will it be on its own server or will it be installed on all current nt servers? Because you once said 1.1 and 2.0 don't work together well so i am not sure..

Also Searching the forum for "2.0" gives no matches, whats up with that? :-)

Since we don't know how 2.0 will be supported by H-Sphere, we really cannot say whether or not it have to be installed on its own server or not. I would really hope that PSoft would implement it so 2.0 could be installed on all servers.

As for your search, you have to use more than 3 characters to get results.

.NET 1.1 and 2 can be installed on the same server and will work together without problem. So I don't see reason why wait till H-SPHERE is support .NET2. Now almost all hostings support .NET 2, for example: [REMOVED] They have reseller account for the same price, which I have now in Vortechh and they support .NET 2 and H-SPHERE.

ASP.NET 2.0 with H-Sphere

I got my start as an H-Sphere reseller through Boundgrid. Last year, I began as a reseller with Vortech and have been thrilled with Vortech (no major complaints about Boundgrid either). My new customers are put in my Vortech reseller account. I have also transferred several customers to my Vortech reseller account. However, I continue to have a Boundgrid reseller account and I put any new customer there who specifically requests ASP.NET 2.0. Their accounts use 1.1 by default...but you just have to open a ticket and they will change it to 2.0...seems to work fine the way they do it within the H-Sphere environment.

hmmmm

very interesting. I am getting more requests for .net 2 support from clients. I see they are competivley priced with Vortech, and offer something I cannot using Vortech. I wish they had a longer trial period as 7 days is not enough time to test apps. This may be worth investigating as it appears 3.0 will be out before Vortech supports 2.0. You may even see Vista and MAC 12 (OS 11 is just a bad Omen)

Yeah I you know I would just like to wait till the patch that supports .net 2.0 is installed before they go installing the next version of .net. The last thing i want is for the servers to crash because it was installed too soon.

The last time 2.0 was installed on a web server, it totally trashed the metabase. Its a problem with the H-Sphere service so we will be waiting for official support.
