Hello,
What we know so far is a few key files were 0 size. No idea how that happened. So, they've been copied from another machine and now it's booting, but there are still some issues. Hopefully, once I get those addressed, the box will be back up. More later. |

So there is no data loss?

Hello,
It's back up now. There were still some Fails at bootup, but we'll get to those later. The important thing is that it's working. Quite a few files were zeroed out. The inodes may have gotten "lost". Having to switch between rescue mode and real mode was such a PITA! |

It doesn't appear so, but you may want to check your files just in case. BTW, all errors are gone now. On another note, somehow, syslog.conf contained the contents of yum.conf. Never seen that happen before.

It seems there was data loss in the mysql databases. Did you restore data from a back up from yesterday? I am missing data that was added to the DB on 4/15.

Only system files were restored. The only files affected show a file size of 0-bytes. If you believe you have lost data, please submit a ticket so we can look into the matter.

Only thing I did was restore fudged binaries from another cPanel box.

cPanel3 is on its way back to the datacenter now. It should be in the rack and online in 20-25 minutes.
