One of the drives keeps giving disk errors and IIS won't stay up. I'm running CHKDSK on it now.

I'm not sure. The time CHKDSK takes is very difficult to predict. We should be getting close to the end though.

CHKDSK didn't fix it. We're working on restoring a backup to a new drive now.

NT30 is back up. All data was restored from a backup done 1/17/07 3:00am EST. If you experience any problems, please submit a ticket to support.

The image is unfortunately a sector by sector copy, so the backup itself needs to checkdisk. I'm trying to stall it until later tonight, but I don't know if that will be possible.

One more thing: Please do not hammer the server to see if your domain is back up. If you want to check occasionally that's fine, but don't spam the refresh button/key.

I just checked on two of my customers sites to see what they were looking like. To be honest, these sites are not complete. Missing images etc.
Is the backup actually complete or is everyone checking the server in conjunction with CHKDSK causing sites to come up missing images etc? |

@DVHost - Yes the backup was at least as complete as the drive was before the restore. If you still have problems after the chkdsk put in a ticket. I will post here when it is done.

It's up, but I'm not entirely convinced it is fixed. If it runs properly for a few hours it may change my mind.
Before anyone asks: yes, there was some data loss due to the corrupt filesystem. If you notice anything critical missing you can send a ticket to support and we will see if it is in the file based backup. |
