Customer can't use port 25 for email. Anyone else having this?

I've got a customer that's having trouble using port 25. They've been a customer of mine for a long time, and have just recently (last two months) been having email problems. I switched their mail server by turning the mail service off, then back on (you lose all your accounts and messages by doing this), and everything seemed to be fine. Now they're having problems with port 25, so I suggested they try port 2525. That's working fine for all their accounts except for one. One computer has a program that has to use port 25 for email (for what reason I'm not sure, it's a reports related thing I guess), and it won't accept port 2525, so I'm not sure what to do. Thought I'd throw it out there in hopes that someone else has seen this and may have a solution.

Thanks in advance.

that is an isp related issue, not vortech. if their program requires port 25 and their isp blocks it, your dead in the water.

Yea we don't block port 25 but a LOT of ISP do now, they could use there local ISP's mail server and it would work just fine. The person getting the mail would never no the difference from being sent though our server or the ISPs really.

Assuming that the computer that blocks 2525 traffic is using the same isp, I'd check your firewall to make sure you're allowing 2525 out. If it's using a different isp, that isp might be blocking bot 25 and 2525. Usually, the isp's tech support can tell you.
