I respect the fact thay Vortech has a nasty situation on its hands. I imagine they really try to fix the problem. This is, however, getting a tiny bit weird. We provide webhosting as an added value to our consultancy operation. How do you thing this reflects on us when customers are starting to lose critical mails, and you can't give them a proper reason, or timeframe when all will be well again? Bloody awfull, i would say. Server down=no weekend break for us. We expect the same from the people we work with. Please communicate!

Still nothing here too, it's been at least 24 hrs . . at least that's how long i've verified that no email to mail7.

my question is, are these being qued up somewhere? My primary hosting domain email and my other main biz are both on mail7.

I sure hope that within the next few hours i get a qued dump of a few hundred emails, at least.

This is getting pretty bad.

The biggest problem we had is moving customers who had over 50 mail boxes. Finally we found a nice tool which allowed us to move mails much faster and thought of sharing this information with you with my fellow resellers.
imapsync @ http://freshmeat.net/projects/imapsync/ runs on perl but a very handly tool to migrate mail between two imap servers. This helped us to move 100s of mail boxes over the past 2-3 days between servers.
Cheers

hi,

For using this tool, you must change mailbox password right?

Its possible to know current mailbox pass in hsphere? or you define new ones and send to customers?

Thanks

Samuel

Samuel - there is no way to know the current mailbox password. I had to reset to new passwords and e-mail them.

The real interest of late is the motorcycle thing they are into now. VT is taking a backseat to that.

Here's what's going on everybody. Mail7 is working at the moment, it will still take a bit of time for it to catchup because it's very busy right now. It's attempting to send all of the mail over the last day and a half.

Thanks for the update. though i'm afraid it's not fully clear.

BUT, has it qued up all the mail in the last few days? And will it start to make it available to our mailboxes. Or do we have to notify all of our clients to resend anything of importance?

I've gotten 2 emails trickle in, but only from last 30 minutes. Will I get email from last night, yesterday, day before??

I agree it's a bit premature to start singing praises. I'm not seeing anything yet. I have not seen anything except for 4 messages that trickled in on Saturday.

In addition, the @Mail system won't let me in to any of the accounts on mail7. It was fine earlier as I was moving stray messages for some of my clients...

That all depends on the sending mail server. If they still having it queued and retry to send it, then you will get the message. If they marked the message as failed and bounced it back to the sender, then it won't be delivered. Most servers should hold and retry mail for at least 24 hours.
