How To Handle DNS
There is a local ISP who would like to use us to host one of his client's web sites. We currently have the Cypher plan with Matrix.
They would like to have the DNS pointed to their servers, but will redirect to ours (Matrix). That's probably so that the DNS would show the ISP's server names. Can this be done, and if so, is there anything that I need to do from our end? From what the client has told me, there will be no email, just hosting. But, in the event that the client would like to use the email features built in our hosting program, would there need to be any config changes from our end? Thanks |

You would need to put the site on a static IP address and then have them point the A record for the site to that IP. As for mail that is up to them since they control the MX record.

Yep, we will be hosting it on our reseller account, but the ISP wants it to look like it's hosted with them (I guess).

I wasn't quite sure of big dave's answer to your question. That was what I was asking. Are they going to handle mail as well? |

The ISP will be hosting the email part of it.
