PhpBB?? Chat?

Hi,

I am seriously considering switching my reseller account to Vortech from my current provider. Pricing is better for what you get. Does vortech have PHPbb message boards and PHP chat room software scripts? These are very important features since a few of my customers use forum software and chat rooms. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

PhPBB2 used to be available with configuration scripts but I do not see it now as an option. Uploading your own copy is straight forward and easy to configure so not having the built-inb scripts is not much of a problem. Setting up the MySql db is easy from the control panel.
I have an account elsewhere for $10 cheaper with many of the same features but there is a world of difference in support and the community with real maintenance, and real live bodies looking after the data center, good quality hardware. That $10 savings is the most expensive bargain I've gotten in a long time. Setting up a new account recently, coming back home to Vortech has been a good move. I had a few initial problems but none were due to anything involving Vortech yet tech support was very responsive.

You would be far better off uploading phpBB each time someone wanted it, or possibly create a little tutorial on setting it up for your clients. Using old copies of the software only opens you up to exploits, which is why you should download it each time you need to install it.
