Do Google Ads Ban You From Yahoo?

I have an aquaintance who has about 1500 sites. He used to have very good rankings in Yahoo and no rankings in Google. He recently added Google Ads to his sites and now has pretty good rankings in Google but his Yahoo rankings have all but dissappeared. Can you not have your cake and eat it too?

It makes sense, if you were Yahoo! a competitor of Google, wouldn't you filter out sites that promote your competitor, hence sites with Google ads aren't there.

If you want a definitive answer you will probably have to contact Yahoo!. Could be alot of things other than ads being banned. The ads could be screwing up the robots, they might be loading slow, could be a spammer or banned domain, etc.

It makes sense to me too, but was wondering if anyone knew for sure. Not sure if Yahoo would admit it though.

Hey Ixie
I'm not sure if this is a definitive answer but I have a site that has google ads on it. When you do a search in yahoo using the key words philadelphia apartments the site comes up number 1 (westminster arch apartments)

When doing the same search using google the site comes up number 11.

The site used to be number 1 on google but has recently slipped to 11. I don't know why it is so far down on google now. If anyone knows how I can get the site back up in the google ranking I would be grateful.

Hope this is of some help Ixie.

Yep and adding a 1000 more! They are business directories for cities in the US. He has telemarketers selling advertising but he has found that he can make more money off google ads so he may drop the telemarketing/advertising aspect. I think he still has a Matrix account but his sites are on a dedicated servers with a competitor. He didn't like H-Sphere. I tried to get him to stick with Matrix but it was a no go. Anyway, his operation starts with http://americaataglance.com and trickles down from there. Now he's starting another somecitybusinesscity.com. Same concept. He's doing pretty well with google.

I figured it had to be something similiar. Telemarketing is very rough to do now days. Hardly worth the costs. We all know advertising is profitable. Many people don't even get good results or know what the results are, but pay because they need to advertise.

wow, 1500 sites....at 1 hour per site (thats low) working 8 hours a day 5 days a week, it would take you 37.5 weeks to set them all up. How does he do it. Not to mention the $8000 in domain fees per year.

Domain fees - no problem, he's a retired doctor. Setting them up - They're all basically clones with different banners, and directory listings, all controlled from a central control panel. Each site probably has around 800 physical html pages but they are minimal and pull in database code. Grossed $20,000 last month on google adds! Not sure about the net, but he's getting there. It's a one man operation!

If I've done my sums correctly that's, what $60 a month per domain.....?
Are they all on the same IP address / using the same C Class? if so, Google will wipe him out sooner rather than later.

I love the map on the home page of http://americaataglance.com (I want one ).
