If he starts hitting it with the Hex editor and updating the FAT by hand I'd start worrying about him if I was you

OK, Dave worked his Black Magic, rebuilt the array for the drives, and also ID'd a bad memory stick What are the odds that a drive & memory failed at the same time!? Outlook is good at this point, more to come shortly.....

Ok, Looks like we are good NT12 is up at the office for a few minutes to make sure all is well before John takes it back downtown. I think the RAID array might have died at someother point in time but the memory failure today sealed the deal, so both are now fixed.

Memory can be faulty a good while before it's detected especially if it's ECC becuase it basically compensates for errors, the array failure probably did have some relationship with the dud RAM.
