Question 2 questions - nameservers & Passport

1. Passport

I live in the UK and tried to sign up but I needed a Passport and driving licence to confirm billable address. I did not have either as I don't drive and did not have a pp. I was confirmed that I can just use a pp for confirmation ... also one is supposed to fax but it was confirmed one can email.

I went and got a British passport however (ha ha) it does not have my address anywhere on it.. So I take it the fact it's my passport is going to be good enough? Or what? ... Matrix must have had someone join up from the UK that only has a Brand new Passport (don't know what info any older one's contain) ... So is this good enough for me to rejoin up? I don't wish to go through the process of paying through my credit card and being knocked back AGAIN because last time the exchange rate did not go in my favour and I lost a few pounds on getting my money back! I need to know ahead of time.

2. nameservers ...in the short time I had the account I immediately tried to follow the tutorial at http://www.matrixreseller.com/stepbystep/index.php everything went brilliantly (but fortuntely in light of the above events) I could not point my domain nameservers because in the tutorial (if one looks at it) it says to use

ns.tutorial.com
ns1.tutorial.com

substituting my domain name of course.

the critical bit being

ns.
ns1.

at http://namecheap.com which is my domain registar.... it says that one cannot use

ns.
ns1.

one has to use

ns1.
ns2.

So what I want to know ... can

ns1.
ns2.

Actually be used in the setup configuration on hsphere at matrixreseller.com? I can't remember if this was fixed or changeble ... I think it was fixed or I would not have had a problem........ I need to know firmly if this can be changed? If so HOW?

I want to use hsphere the windows setup.

Thankyou for your time ...

Tina

No address on the passport shouldn't be an issue, I'm pretty sure most countries passports don't actually have one either, certainly our NZ ones don't.

You can use NS1 and NS2 (this is fact is in fact what I use myself), you just need to change them from the Domain Aliases menu in your control panel.

Hi Brangwyn

many thanks for your reply:) Actually I guess on the passport I had better email a direct question to support just to be on the safe side ... it's cost me enough to get this far:). Unless they answer here first...

Great on the nameserver issue ... and this DOES work in hsphere on the windows setup? You yourself must have had to change it from .ns and ns1 to ns1. and ns2. you just deleted and entered what you wanted?

many thanks for your time

Tina

tina, your nameservers are an alias to ns.hsphere.cc and ns1.hsphere.cc that use your reseller domain.
you could for instance alias super.yourname.com to ns.hsphere.cc and duper.yourname.com to ns1.hsphere.cc.
You can delete any alias entries made and set them up with different names at any time if you wish, theres a little trash icon to do this.
good luck, i'm sure a passport will be enough... Vixens on holiday at the moment however.

Ramjet is right but forgot one thing, you CAN delete your name servers anytime but you don't want to do this after you have set your first account up, you will run into problems.

Just make sure you do it before you start adding accounts.

Just to be pedantic and clarify that slightly, whilst you could do that i.e I'm pretty sure H-Sphere would let you, according to the RFC relating to nameservers, they must start with either NS or DNS, so registrars shouldn't actually let you register a nameserver called super or duper, but nssuper, or dnsduper would be fine .
