Making changes to the mail server.

As of right this second I am making some changes that may help with the mail server probolems. I need feedback. Please let me know if it helps the password prompt and timeout problems. Please only post if it happens after 2:00 EST not problems from before.

hi hostnet,
not really sure if you're after problem reporting or positive feedback, but everything seems fine to me now. (ie atmail web login is fine, test messages all going through instantly on mail and mail one, redirects working) The cp is down at the moment so i can't test login from cp or trouble tickets.

Yea we are going to do a few more changes to the mail server as well to help drop the load a little more. We are also testing disk usage for resellers now as well.. So there is some good things coming and may be able to lift the 30 day limit and 5MB limit on emails as well.

yes, double woot.
as a suggestion, could just the sent items and trash be deleted after x days? In my not very informed opinion, if this was possible it would free up lots of space and still allow people who want to use mail mainly from the web to be happy...

tests all from controlpanel - text only(no attachments)....

mail1 login fine
mail1 to mail1 fine
mail1 to mail fine
mail1 to external fine

mail login fine
mail to mail fine
mail to mail1 fine
mail to external fine

troubleticket system fine

(this from a man who had a 15/15 failure rate two days ago!!!)

Is the work completed now?
Any problems after changes made?

I have a complain from someone from china who tried to send a mail to a client of mine. He has said his mail was rejected.

Investigating to get more details on this (Currently I know nothing more than the above).

admin: I am just curious to know whether you have made any restrictions on IPs connecting to Email servers?

99% of all my spam originates from China (some 80 odd emails a day) so if matrix are blocking China mail thats ok with me!

Just kiddin Lankan :-)))

You dried my liver ;-)

Main reason for switching to Matrix is becaue of this client. He is my backbone and running an online application mainly deals with suppliers from china.

There are no restrictions on individual email accounts. We block the whole ip if it originates from hackers or DOS attacks, so if he can use his web to connect here then his mail should be fine, We are currently blocking a few ip's for the previously stated reasons. If you submit a ticket with his ip address I can let you know if this one is configured on the firewall.
