How to connect to MS SQL

For anyone who is stumped at trying to connect to their MS SQL DB!

Let me say that I have been trying to do this for almost 3 weeks now. I have searched the web, newsgroups even MS help.

The method I have finally found (without buying extra software) relies on having a copy of MS Access, now I thought it would be as simple as using the Upsizing Wizard (as help suggests). However I got errors and my DB was never modified. What they don't tell you is that you need to install the SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine! Once you do this create a new "project" in Access and point it to mssql.yourdomain.com with your username and pass (which you do in the CP) and you are set!

For details on instaling on Office XP see http://support.microsoft.com/default...EN-US;Q290627&

or for Office 2000 see http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q218812

I just felt I should share this with the community to maybe save others the same trouble I had.

Best regards and happy coding!

I'm glad I could help!

The only problem is that instead of doing my work I've been learning data types all night
