In addition, the @Mail system won't let me in to any of the accounts on mail7. It was fine earlier as I was moving stray messages for some of my clients...

There was a separate issue with one of the webmail servers. It is working now.

I'm still hearing reports from my customer of not being able to get into webmail.

I sent a few test emails yesterday from my personal earthlink account. . . still nothing in my inbox, and no rejection messages back to me. It's been about 21 hrs so i'll await and see.

Okay, how about outgoing mail? Will all of those be transmitted. 3 of 4 of my main domains/business are on mail7 and i've been blindly "sending" mail over the last few days without even realizing a problem - again without errors, receipts, etc. It wasn't until i sent myself a message without receiving it that i even came to the boards . . no this. Should i go back and "resend" everything i've sent?

And exactly how long has this particular issue been going on? It would help if i have to look back 1 day, 2 days or longer?

As am I.

What is the Motorcycle thing they are into?

This issue has cost me several accounts I am afraid. I will admit up to this point, Vortech Hosting has been a true Godsend. This is the first really bad thing that has been close to a real problem...All other hiccups have come and gone...This one seems pretty bad.

Bad enough to start looking I am afraid...At least for my new accounts.

Email in many regards has been a mess over the last 6 months. While it seems to be limited to a few servers, it has become unreliable for many of my accounts. I've got posts and posts and tickets and tickets over months ... This is just icing on the cake. Unfortunately, VT seems to have no issue in consistently blaming "out of spec" outside users/servers. I'm done opening tickets on email at this point.
I will say again, as i do in many of my posts... everything else has been pretty dang good with VT and have high praises for everything that i've done in the last 2-3 yrs. (I'm limited to unix reselling, so can't comment on other aspects)

I shall insert the proverbial "Been there, done that" . . . I'm sorry to say.

Looking for another reliable email host to move my unhappy customers email service?

What I would like is to keep the customer's web hosting at vortech and have the email at another location that offers more email services for a reasonable fee.

http://www.everyone.net/ ......someone told me about this company but I think they are too expensive for 10-20 mailboxes.

The customers I am thinking of moving are ones that have 10-20 employees and rely heavily on their email to conduct their business.
( if this needs to be moved to another thread then please do so)

couldn't agree more.
I'm afraid this company has lost the "willing", or the competence.
Time to move forward.
Up to yesterday never really had the need to have a 'plan B backup hosting'.
...Starting right now.

and for those of you who are asking the current problem with mail7 has been going on for 2 weeks now, and apparently nothing done over the weekends as this has been listed as a tech 3 problem. I think this is in-excuseable

Any outgoing mail would have been sent by now. If it is still missing you should resend it. I don't think outgoing mail was affected for very long though. Most of the problems with mail7 have been for incoming mail.

Mail7 seems to be working for me....incoming and outgoing...for the moment.

Is it working better for others as well?

Also on your control panel. Click on the domain id and then in the new window there should be a 'view' button near the email service or something.

Mail 7 seem to be working...for now.
But all the e-mails from those two days got into a black hole as someone put it.

You can also look in DNS Configuration or determine the server by the IP. Mail0 ends in 20, mail5 ends in 25, mail12 ends in 32, etc.
