I have some domains with either some or all development languages turned off. Two reasons for doing it...

1. Client management issues: If I feel the client might hurt themselves. I usually address this directly though, and only turn off scripting as a backstop. Usually the site in question is just brochure ware and/or Flash.

2. Security: It's kind of fundamental to reduce the number of possible attack vectors by turning off stuff you don't use.

I'd be comfortable with the ability to toggle php off and on with the understanding that if it's on; it's on for both php 4 and 5.

I have a customer on unix27 who is a php intensive user. For the moment everything seems to be working for them. Also phpBB seems to be working fine.
Thank You Josh

It looks like everything went pretty smoothly with unix27. I've only seen a couple cases of sites breaking. We'll post an upgrade schedule for the other servers today or tommorow.

Could Vortech support perhaps keep a list of applications known to break and post them on the forum please? This would help us to be proactive with our customers and tell them upfront whether certain software is likely to break with the upgrade.

I'm interested in knowing which applications people are already having difficulty with though really, I know 90% of my customers simply use 3rd party PHP software and have little to no programming experience, I've just found that Joomla 1.x is effected too.

We're going slow at first so everyone has a chance to figure out what works and what doesn't. We'll pick up the pace after Unix22.
