AspEncrypt
I have just recently found out that AspEncrypt is installed on the servers but as I am fairly new to proper encryption I am very unsure of how actually go about encrypting and decrypting sesitive data like passwords or credit cards details.
Is there anyone that can give me some help in setting up some simple functions to encrypt such data? I have looked at the examples on the AspEncrypt site but sadly had no joy getting them to work as they required a hidden registry password key to be installed on the server for them to work Has anyone got the AspEncrypt working for them? |

Well I would have to post in the wrong place on my first place, good start eh
I have managed to find a similar post to this in a different forum that I wasnt aware of and in turn I found this link to an RC4 method of encryption and decryption. It seams very straight forward and simple which is great. I have sucessfully run the encrypt and decrypt function (coz its so simple ) but the decrypted string appears like this "§)ïw%Óß¡‹âŠ79£<îÌo".Has anyone used this metod before and do they know how secure it actually is? |
