Maybe it is just me, but I am still working on helping some of my customers getting off FP extensions.... Old habits die hard for some!

Any way I can implore the decision making gods at VT to give us another 7 days grace period on the Windows side before killing the FPSE??

That should have everyone I am working with transitioned....

Much appreciated if this is possible.....

Only 5 days left until the announced removal date.
It would be nice to get some confirmation that the date will be met. If not, a new date announcement would alleviate a lot of FUD.

Here is what we are doing, we are completely removing FP extensions from Unix on the 15th, and we have already stopped supporting them. On the 15 of this Month, no new accounts will be allowed to turn FP on (in Windows) all existing FP accounts will be left as is, and we will continue to support you in Windows. Hopefully this has cleared some of the confusion up.

BRAVO: I was wondering how I was going to find time to move all of those accounts over the weekend. This decision saved my butt. THANKS

what does this mean exactly? If my client has an existing Windows account, and they purchase a new domain, will they be able to turn on FP extensions so that I can publish to the account easily?

What if I have a new account and just want to use MSFPE to publish? I find it is much easier and faster to publish my website using MSFPE instead of FTP.

On UNIX, when the extensions are removed, will that mess up the way a web site looks (like the shared navigation links) or will it only affect how the user updates the site (FTP instead of FrontPage Publish)?

I just received the email sent out (~1:00PM PST)

Was this original announcement ever emailed out to all users? If so, when?

We prefer not to use them at all. We reserve the right to remove the option to enable Frontpage on Windows with no further notice.

If your site is pure html you should be fine. If you rely on any server side processing (forms, bots, etc.) they should stop functioning.
