seriously, do a search on ecommerce scripts for frontpage. One I have been aware of that has been around for a while are:

paypal:
http://www.thetemplatestore.com/fpstoretemplates.asp

real cart:
http://www.storefront.net/
http://www.salescart.com/

My experience with StoreFront would offer the advice to avoid it.

candypress is about the best for the money. Good user community forum on their site as well.

In my opinion, CandyPress is OUTSTANDING! I developed one store with it and it was a synch.

Here's the deal, you can develop your website in FrontPage and then add the ecommerce on top of the site. All store management is done through web interface. If you wanted to share themes/boarders, I think you would be better off using includes but for the FrontPage ASP expert, it might be a challenge worth pursuing.

yes, another ditto against storefront, and for candypress. I just completed a rather extensive candypress rollout for our company store. Was a very satisfying app to work with as far as modding it.

I haven't done anything with candypress since they were bought out. I found the old comp. was easy to work with. Anyone have any experience with the new company? Are they better, worse, or about the same?

My project was complete just before the take over. I have not been back to their community in a while (22Jan05) but last time I looked it seemed status quo.

A quick peek and I found that they are in the final beta of version 3... VERY Interesting.

Yeah, these guys turned me on to CandyPress, and I love it as well, I have done some mods, but you do need to know ASP.

I use FrontPage as well, but stay away from their "canned scripts" and plugins. I just use it for editing pages, "hard coding" type work. Its nice for its global find and replace, built in FTP, and switching between "WYSIWYG" and source editing. If I had to move my sites to a windows server that didn't support FrontPage extensions, it wouldn't hurt my sites in the least. Only how I built or edit them, and old dogs CAN learn new tricks. *S*

Candypress but one Gotcha

I use Candypress with Frontpage/ASP on Vortech servers and love it and recommend it.

GOTCHA > Some people who use Frontpage are actually on Unix with FP Extensions. Candypress will not work there. It is ASP/Access Driven and requires a win server.

be sure you know the entire environment for the client.

Also for the candypress loyalists. It was built on Comersus http://www.comersus.com/ which is available in a few flavors from free to costly.
