MSSQL Servers no longer SHOW ALL DB's :)

Yesterday we changed all the mssql servers to only show db's you have access to, this should speed things up all around on the mssql servers for your login with EM.

I tested this and it seemed to work great for me, if a few users could test this and post back here would be super.

Thanks

Always keep an extra credit card processing account ready to take orders as a backup, just in case (speaking from experience). I use: 2checkout.com

It's easy to open an account and the charges are reasonable, no need of any monthly activity and no monthly charges. Their new system is great and support is also good.

OMG! You guys are BRILLIANT!!! That has been such a huge problem with EM for so long. Are you gonna give up your secret?

Now, how many other hosts out there would go to that trouble or even know how? Thanks guys, you're the best!

I think I will keep this one top secret.

This was one of the problems we had for some time, people seeing others DB's and worried that someone could get in theres, plus it took so long to list all those DB's just to getin EM. This should help with EM a LOT.

I had sub-ftp for windows with another provider.
It was nothing but trouble!!

Lost passwords all the time.
Security problems - cd up and down into someone elses area.
Security access problems
Things working - then breaking

No thanks.
This is one place Big Brad is right to hold the line.
Sub-ftp on windows is like an elevator in an outhouse.
You can do it, but it just don't belong.

If my client really need a true ftp domain I just set up
a unix account for it, play a few control panel tricks,
and have trouble free domain ftp service, in transparent
way. The end users never know the difference.

Brad:

Great job bringing a fix to this issue into reality!

When I checked my EM for MSSQL1, the list is definitely much shorter, but there actually are a few other DBs besides my own and the system DBs that I can see. I will PM the names of all the ones I can see to you - I'm thinking it's a "misconfiguration" on those DBs?

Hey that sounds interesting... can you start a thread telling us how to do it? I'm sure it'll be useful for quite a few people (including me).

Cheers
