New Servers!

Vortech, Inc. has added two new dual Xeon 2.4Ghz 2GB RAM systems to our Hsphere cluster. The first server is a Windows 2000 Server, 'nt1.hsphere.cc'. The second server is a Unix Web server, 'unix14.hsphere.cc'. Both servers will be made available for signups on Friday. This should give you ample time to update your Server Aliases.

Be sure to add the server aliases in your control panel:

Adding logical servers and server aliases:

1. Login into the admin control panel.
2. Click E.MANAGER
3. Click Server Aliases under E.MANAGER
4. If there are server aliases that need to be added, scroll to the bottom of the page click Submit.
5. Click DNS Manager under E.MANAGER
6. Click edit button to the right of DNS zone
7. Click edit button to the right of your instant alias address
8. If there are logical servers that need to be added, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Add records to all listed logical servers”. You can ignore any warnings for servers that don't have logical records.

Allow 4-12 hours for changes to take place. We are adding servers on a regular basis so we recommend that you submit these servers & aliases at least once per month.

LAST CHANCE FOR NAMESERVER IP ADDRESSES!

We will be removing the old IP addresses for the nameservers at the end of the week. If you have not yet contacted your registrar to update these IP addresses, then you need to do so IMMEDIATELY. To determine if your IP addresses are update, you can visit http://www.dnsreport.com/ Enter your service domain in the blank, and click Submit. The TOP box, for the "Parent" records, should read your nameservers and the IP addresses associated with them.

Again, here are the IP addresses (Your aliases will differ):

ns.hsphere.cc 216.157.145.10
ns1.hsphere.cc 216.157.145.11
ns2.hsphere.cc 216.157.145.12
ns3.hsphere.cc 216.157.145.13

Check the "Server Aliases" section of your Admin control panel (Under E.MANAGER) to determine which IP matches which of your nameservers.

Once removed, the old IPs will not function. If you have not updated your IP addresses, your sites will stop working. We will not issue credits for downtime associated with this change.

Webmail Upgrade

Webmail will be taken offline tonight for a few short minutes. This will be performed at approx. 3AM Aug 4th, 2004. We are adding some more RAM as it seems to be running out during busy times of this day. Downtime will only be about 5 minutes.
