Thanks bocosoft. So far its looking really really good besides the old issues that have been there for a long time. Those we can live with as we have been in 2.3.. I hope they get them fixed at some point. But I think we might be safe for monday next week so far. I will keep an eye on psoft's forum to make sure nothing pops its little head up..

Web Shell is now called file manager on the users side, we also fixed file manager for the win server as well. So web shell 4 should be good to go in the beta system now.

I still have not seen any reports of issues so we may be ready to go monday.

Webshell4 allows the use of htprotect for windows to login/password protect files and directories. Does anyone have any experience working with it in windows? Some questions I had were:
  1. Does it toss a standard windows login or can I serve a custom login page?
  2. If a login fails, can I redirect, or does it go to a 401?
  3. How do I protect the .htprotect file itself? (I'm assuming the login/password for a file/directory is kept there)
  4. Will I have more than one .htprotect file? (e.g. In each directory using protection, or just one within the root directory?)
  5. Is it restricted to http protocol, or will it fire for ftp as well? (e.g. can I use it for a pseudo ftp sub-account?)
  6. Is it restricted to the web space, or can it be used for directories external to the root web dir? - also ftp related.

Edit: - Did a search on Psoft and Google, but couldn't find any implementation details.

Still not logging in the file manager. I double checked the usern/passw but nothing works on that end... everything else is really fast.

Joseph, that is not possible on our shared machines. You need to have root access to install and the ability to edit config files not available to end-users. You would need either a VPS account or dedicated server to run a shoutcast server.
