NT24 has experienced Hard Drive Failure. We are in the process of replacing the harddDrives. We will update this thread as the rebuild progresses.

We are removing the machine for drive repair in the next few minutes. I will post another update as soon as I have more news.

The good old IBM Hard Drive failed in NT24 the new NT24 is almost setup now. The new system will have the raid setup in all new hardware. It will take a little time to get H-Sphere to recreat all the sites on the system. Moving the data over should take less then 2 hours once installed due to the new gige lines already in place.

We will be sending out an Announcement for the NT24 as it will be pulling from the backups for the hshome dir. from 5/17/2004 so backups are up to date.

Sorry, I just sent one out as soon as we found out. We can't send out an email about a harddrive failure unless were 100% sure it has really failed beyond repair.

It will take some time to restore users and content from backup. I will guess and say around 3 hours give or take...

On unix machines this process is very fast, unfortunately on windows it is not.

Why not suspend or stop the ad's till its backup so you don't lose money like that. Who is it with google or some other PPC most of the time you can drop you bid to the bottom or disable it till its backup. At least thats what I would do.

Its not us that thats the time its H-Sphere and windows that take all the time.. If it was unix it would be done by now, but with windows we can export IIS, Users and all the info like unix..

No exact ETA yet, but the date of the backups will be 5/17/2004.

Do you know the time the backups are run every night?

It varies from machine to machine, I would say later last night. Matt is working on the server now, but if he has a moment he can give you a closer time estimate.
