mailbox quota
Just wanted to get some feedback on whether you guys feel 1 mb is a sufficient mailbox quota for a general email package / hosting package where a client would only experience a moderate amount of traffic ??
Any ideas would be much appreciated |

hmm i would make it at least 5mb, but then i suppose it all depend on how many email accounts you are expecting people to create. Dont forget that storage is taken of actual space used not allocation.

I think most ISPs will give you about 5 MB and I think free accounts typically give you around 2 MB worth of space.

5 Mb is reasonable - gives you enough space for someone to email you a good sized file. If they need larger, refer them to Yahoo, MSN, or Gmail (100Mb, 250Mb, and 1Gb of storaage respectively).

Had some people on comcast today a customer was emailing that bounced a full mailbox. The are giving 250mb. I know it is all the web mail people are using, but they wipe after 30days. But it is somethin for people not to check their mail.
