I asked Brad about this and he said the field is not included in the BB. So it was not something we removed or anything.

I would have answered you last night but about the time I went to post Road Runner went nuts on me. Actually there was a problem with ATDN.net somewhere and caused some serious lag time, not to mention some sites I could not even get to. It sucked.

I hate when my cable modem goes on strike periodically for 15 to 30 minutes once or twice a day. Thank god besides reselling I have my own isp so I have a free dialup i can always use.

I do love how when cox goes down, if you can get thru to their tech support, they try and tell you there is no problem.

I believe they takes classes on how to tell customers politely they are insane and their modem must be working. They are just so nice when they tell you they can't help with your modem not working but is their anything else they can help you with. If they weren't so polite I'd ask them if they could come out and do my dishes since they can't get me online.

Why can't they just say they are doing periodic maintenance or something. I just want to know if its the normal 15-30 minutes mess or if there is a serious problem and I should fire up the dialup.

To be fair they are helpful for other types of issues. Once one was even honest and said I don't know, it's not on my list, so why don't you wait an hour and if it doesn't come back up call us back.

That was refreshing and much better than when
it took 30 minutes to get thru to their phone and start the onhold process and another 15 minutes on hold(not bad), by the time they got to me(45 minute total) the modem came backup while I was talking to them and the customer service rep said well its working now so there must not be a problem.

Wow, that sucks. I have to give TWC/Bright House some credit that their hold time is minimal and if there is an issue they will actually tell you. Also, their downtime is minimal. If my cable modem went down everyday I would throw it out the window and into my Koi pond. LoL

Last night wasn't their fault and even if it was, I understand things happen. Especially when it comes to computer equipment and the net. They just seem to always happen when I am trying to do something. LoL

No you would not thro the modem out! Not when that is your only high speed access. LOL. I've been a customer of Cox for a year and though they go down periodically, once to twice a day, the sun hits the horizon that often and desert in between. Let's me go out and touch someone.

Oh yes I would throw it out because twice a day is awful. My Koi would have a new toy. LoL

Can't get dsl, I tried, so i'm stuck for now. I got real mad once when I lived back east in DC and had roadrunner and I threw the cpu into the trash. When calmer heads prevailed it didn't work very well. I gained some patience and learned my lesson not to throw things.

I don't even know how to operate this thing. LoL I had a BB on my personal site but it was nothing like this one. That reminds me, I need to work on that when I can find a free moment. Which is NEVER. LoL
