When is @mail going to be fixed

IMO @mail was launched too early. We all have issues with it.

When is Vortech going to solve them? Remember that we have no choice than use this webmail or setup our own.

I have used @mail every day I have not seen any issues... Please point them out if you know of some.. Something other then things you want added.. If there is an issue with say login, displying mail or something like that give me the details and error message and we will try and get them all fixed.

I have two tickets open : 72337 & 71169

Those are problems for our customers, not things I want to add.

The address http://webmail.hsphere.cc/index.pl is fine, but at present when a user types in the old mail.ResellerDomain.com it points to - http://216.157.131.123/index.pl
which in turn, still shows up as –

I don't think ARIN information can be changed. At least I know it could not be changed in the past. This would definitely be a Brad issue.

The following are issues our customers have come up with so far. We have not checked into each one yet....still working on that but handling the phone calls takes some time.

1/ It's really slow

2/ I tried deleting some messages by checking them and then clicking on delete (the "x"). It didn't work

3/ I opened the first message, then I tried opening the next by clicking on the link, but it would just "hang" in another window, without opening

4/ My address book says it's empty... when I had a whole bunch of people added to it.

5/I drag and drop e-mails into the trash, but if you click on another e-mail, it will preview in the pane below and all the message you have marked for deletion are unmarked. I went into the trash and they were not there.

6/I changed the settings in my account to personalize the preferences. I logged out. When I logged back in the setting were gone... even the signature is not there any longer.

1. @Mail is slower than the old webmail's because it's so much more programatically/graphically intense. I would recommend they use the "simple" interface option on login. This will still have all the functionality, without the extras that take time to load.

2. That's interesting. Check your settings to make sure that messages sent to the "trash" folder are automatically deleted.

3. Others have had issues with @Mail crashing. Again I can only recommend using the "simple" interface.

4. You have to manually export your old address book out of the old webmail and import it into the new one. Do a search on this forum, I think it's been talked about before.

5. I was unaware you could drag and drop - then again, maybe you're not talking about @Mail. More info here please.

6. That's strange indeed, works well for me. Sorry, cannot help you here.

Maybe a TT for these issues will be necessary.

that icon is for emptying your trash folder, not deleting selected emails.

1/ It's really slow

A: Seems fine to me, I switch it to the simple interface as the default login.

2/ I tried deleting some messages by checking them and then clicking on delete (the "x"). It didn't work

A: I deleted like 400 messages today using this I know it works in adv I have not used simple yet.. But you check them all and more to trash thats what i do.

3/ I opened the first message, then I tried opening the next by clicking on the link, but it would just "hang" in another window, without opening

A: Never seen this issue before..

4/ My address book says it's empty... when I had a whole bunch of people added to it.

A: You added them to @mail or did you have them in hord. There is no way for us to move them from hord to @mail. I have like 30 in there and have been there for about 2 months now and never had an issue with them not being in there.

5/I drag and drop e-mails into the trash, but if you click on another e-mail, it will preview in the pane below and all the message you have marked for deletion are unmarked. I went into the trash and they were not there.

A: Never tried that I will take a look.

6/I changed the settings in my account to personalize the preferences. I logged out. When I logged back in the setting were gone... even the signature is not there any longer.

A: I will test this now I have not seen that issue.

TESTED: I never even had an idea you could do this.. I took a test email and draged it in to the trash and there it was in the trash with no issues..

Update: I also tried checking 2 of them and draging them to the trash and both are there like they should be.

This is only tested in ADV. You can't drag and drop in the simple one.

Thanks for the update. I will speak with the customer when they return my call. As for the different items, that was a quick copy and paste from two different emails, I added the numbers to make it easier to follow.

I will follow-up with them on all these issues. Thanks again.

A quick update on a few things I've noticed.

As for the delete and drag/drop functions not working for you. Be sure to wait before assuming it didn't work. I thought mine wasn't working either, but it takes time for these functions to happen. Plus, are you on a dial-up? That could be part of it too.

A WORD OF CAUTION: If you use the drag and drop function with the advanced interface, beware - I moved a file from my inbox to my 'sent' box - worked great - trouble is when I moved from 'sent' back to 'inbox' - the message disappeared, and I'm guessing it was deleted. Don't know why, but that seems to be a bug.

ALSO, watch out if you're importing a CSV from Horde into @Mail - I've only been successful getting the "email" and "name" values to import. Since @mail imports the Address fields separately (but Horde exports them as one big 'address' field) the 'newline' character throws the @Mial importer off, and everything that is beyond the 'address' gets messed up.

A suggestion for address book migration. Make a hard copy, or get ready to tweak your CSV file before trying to import it.

Speed - I'm still on a 56k connection at home (16 days to go for ADSL and counting ) - but everything works fine for me.......
