Resellme, I don't think a drop down box would be a good idea because most people would forget what mail server they are on. Although typing mail.yourdomainname.com is more work, its more foolproof.

I am on IE 6.0xxx with Win2kPro I just double checked. I used the "advanced" login and I can create all kinds of Javascript errors by playing around with the "refresh" and "Hide/Show mail Folders" buttons. |

At the very least it should remember the server you typed in (use a cookie!) Or if possible maybe allow this to be sent via querystring ... ?pop=mail.mymail.com
I'm sure you already know how igorant some people are when it comes to technical details... Also is there any reason why the other web-mail options are being discontinued? I know the importance of having a single solution support-wise but when I have to teach my clients how to use another system and explain why its being changed it would be nice to have some solid reasons... after all I've only been with you guys a few months now, my clients are just getting settled in to the new(old) web-mail systems :/ after losing their settings during the transfer from our old host. < getting stressed about this already...

Can this be altered?

many customers won't know what mailserver they're actually on and just use mail.yourdomain.com instead, I don't think the dropdown box really would be a good idea. |

99% of the time end users can use mail.theredomain.com

Only the service domain will need mail1.yourservicedomain.com (at least most of the time), and watch it, your service domain is not alwyas on mail1, just check in the control panel and see which server it says it is on.

Admin: Yep I meant 'Admin@MyDomain.com' - as I use 'Admin' on a couple of forums etc...
Works now though - thanks ![]()

Thanks for trying admin, I was under the impression that they would have to choose between mail1.domain.com and mail.domain.com. Thanks for clearing that up Landiserve.
In this case perhaps we could pull the domain name, not sure how that is done in Perl. I know it is easy enough in PHP/ASP. That would really help a lot, as it is one less step, and less hassle for clients. Thanks |
