I had a 3.9mb burst a few times since getting my new connection (to some of my websites), but average for me is around 450k, which is my connection, not you.

My bandwidth reading was 596.50kbps DSL. Is that average for DSL? My friends say they have a better connection because they use cable.

A couple of firewalls yes, but this has not stopped other metering tools from working fine...
