Can someone please explain...

Why is EVERYTHING is so slow lately?

I have been a client for years, and I can never remember a period like we are going thru currently. There is nothing more frustrating than getting nasty emails from clients because they cannot access the control panel a it takes too long to load. That they are pissed because it took 3 minutes for their simple site to load.

Is there anything we can do to get things with Vortech back to the good old days?

speaking candidly, I'm not happy anymore either. I really wish it were like it was about 2-3 years ago... seemed there was more attention to us resellers.
Not sure if there aren't enough good techs out there, or if we're starting to feel the beginning of the end of any kind of NET neutrality, but speeds are very spotty across all the servers (at least the 10 or so I have clients on). Add to this the trouble with some servers whether it be mail delivery, session issues on windows boxes, or some issues I'm now seeing with the Linux servers, it's not a good situation.

This is true, and nobody at Vortech listening (or seem to). I wonder what happened with Vortech with too many problems these days, and nothing will be done to fix the things and make them better.

What I think makes me most upset is that when you write tech asking why I am about to lose another client due to slow servers and down time, and they reply "everything came up fine for me".

I think they are living in a different world than the rest of us.

Whenever you have a speed issue you always need to submit a trace route, sometimes the "slow server speed" has nothing to do with us and everything to do with where you live. I'm sorry about this situation if one or two of you could put a list together stating exactly what the problems are, I'll be more than happy to address them at our next meeting. If you can make sure you're specific on the servers you are having issues with and around what time you are having these issues that would also greatly help us.

I think it's fair to say just based on the number and consistency of complaints recently about certain servers that there's definitely some issues Vortech side, the Control Panel Server for instance hits a go slow for 3 or 4 hours every single night now around 6pm my local time (~midnight EST).

To add though to the trace route, if your on windows then a pathping command is probably more useful than traceroute is for connectivity debugging, it will clearly show you where any packet loss is occuring.

Code:
Usage: pathping [-g host-list] [-h maximum_hops] [-i address] [-n] [-p period] [-q num_queries] [-w timeout] [-4] [-6] target_name Options: -g host-list Loose source route along host-list. -h maximum_hops Maximum number of hops to search for target. -i address Use the specified source address. -n Do not resolve addresses to hostnames. -p period Wait period milliseconds between pings. -q num_queries Number of queries per hop. -w timeout Wait timeout milliseconds for each reply. -4 Force using IPv4. -6 Force using IPv6.

Yes I suspect the current CP issue will be on Vortech's end, have you submitted a trouble ticket yet? if not then I'll do so shortly.

<edit> I've submitted a ticket.
<edit> Seems to be responding again as of a few minutes ago.

Not yet, I'm just going to give it about 10 minutes or so before I add to their current woes
[edit] all good now

The Key issues are :

1. When a server goes down for simple reasons like ISS reset, it takes atleast 5 hrs for the sites to be back online.

2. CP access is very slow at most of the times.

Sivvaa, I've never seen a server go down for 5 hours, that's absurd if that has ever happened (on our end) Do you have an example of when this is happened because that's uncalled for, and I'm sure you agree with that. We're working on fixing these issues to make our customers happy, we're still improving these issues and I thank all of you for bringing these issues to our attention.
