Sorry, I wasn't able to establish an SMTP connection. (#4.4.1)
I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.
Maybe it is to do w/ the outage problem overseas. But I seem to be seeing this on other comcast accounts also. I do have the spf setup also. The accts tested are getting email so not sure why it is bouncing. Is that spf setting adequate for an spf lookup? frustrating.
I noticed the same thing about having to send another email to "push it through" the other day.

Dan,
any updates on the Comcast front? Today we were blocked again. There must be some permanent solution to this. How are other hosting companies dealing with that? I do have that spf fix installed, it seems not to help.

The update comcast gave me was that they couldn't do anything, I attempted to speak with a "manager" they told me they'd have them call me back, I've attempted to get in contact with a manager over there everyday for the last 3 weeks, I've heard everything from "they just went into a meeting" to there are no managers here. Their spam policies are awful and they don't want to deal with anybody. I will continue my trek to attempt to get them to resolve this issue.

It's not just comcast - perhaps its vortech

Today, we are now receiving rejections from hotmail and microsoft live services? This needs to be fixed ASAP as we have now lost two clients and will have to considering moving ourselves if this continues.

I agree with you drobee. I think Vortech is not proactively monitoring SPAM from its users. They did not proactively test the last upgrade of HSPHERE before launching it which is why we had so many problems for so long. I don't know if they don't understand what proactive means or if they just don't want to bother with trying to prevent problems. Either way, we suffer the consequences of their choices.

I'm starting to wonder if the TLD is not to blame. It might be a stretch but could it be possible that having the email server IP resolve to a .cc domain raises the red flags?

It's something that's been rolling around in my head for a while.

Since Vortech claims to us that they can not do anything about this problem with Comcast, I believe they should post on the main page of their website that customers will have rejected emails at least 2 times a week if they sign up for their service. I don't see this disclaimer anywhere on their site that specifically mentions Comcast mail rejects.

Comcast has been the bad boy of the net neutrality folk for sometime now. I wouldn't be surprised if something they do to regulate who can access what has spilled over into mail scans without them having a clue about it.

Comcast is blocking Mail8, and the client is unable to deliver to any Comcast email address.

Comcast cannot block mail 8 as all mails being sent to comcast are being sent through our forward server, please send us a copy of the bounce message via the ticketing system.

Ticket System seems to be broken

Surprisingly, my ticket went through. Fantastic response time! Kevin is working on it.

Meh, this is bad, bad, bad. I just bounced a valid mail off Comcast from mail3.

I posted this to the Comcast Blocked Provider Request Form
http://www.comcastsupport.com/Forms/...edprovider.asp

************************************************** ******
"Comcast BL004 Blocked for spam."
There is a strict no-spam policy on all of Vortech's servers, which I resell as shared virtual hosting solutions. Vortech is aware of the issue and have made steps (terminating spammers) to resolve it. By blocking mail3.hsphere.cc and other Vortech servers, you are unfairly penalizing many domains and mail users, thereby disrupting internet mail traffic in a reckless manner. Please take whatever steps that are necessary to provide a solution to this problem with Comcast rejecting valid email as soon as possible.
************************************************** ******
They must be reminded that their blanket blocking is a very bad idea, and causes more of a problem than it addresses.

Having started this thread, I must say that email (imo) has improved 10 fold!!!. I haven't been rejected by Comcast in weeks and SPAM seems to be realatively under control.

Thank you for getting this under control & keep up the good work!

Thanks Oglee! At least someone noticed! There are still blocks that come up from time to time but definitely way less then when i started working here @ Vortech. Plus we have a direct line to Comcast Security Desk now which expedites our removal requests. Let me give you some stats:

Blocked: Policy 157,154
Blocked: Spam 23,108
Blocked: Virus 305
Quarantined: 14,747

Sent: 358,206

Total Received 553,520
