Scheduled Maintenance - NT29

On Wednesday, September 13th we will be replacing the system drive on server NT29. We will have to take the server offline while we mirror the drive. The expected downtime is less than 2 hours. The maintenance will start at 9PM EDT.

Updates will be given at the start and conclusion of the maintenance window. Any complications will be communicated.

We apologize for the short notice, but the system drive is throwing errors and it is best to not put this off.

This drive was only just replaced a month ago, maybe it's the controller not the drive?.

Both are being replaced.

The drive dropped, and I'm pretty sure its not the controller. We're working to try to extract an image from the drive before it dies completely.

We've been able to recover an old image from the server's previous drive. The image will be incomplete, but should allow most users to be online. Please note that only the server's system drive was affected, the data drive and all user data is still intact.

We're going to try to get the old image online and then start building a new box and then transfer the data over once it is complete.

NT29 is up on the system image. I've restored the new metabase and the server has the new user data. Everything should be up for most users. We are starting on the replacement server now.

Temporary permissions are just about done on the NT29 data drive, so we are getting ready to move it to the new server.

The data drive is in the new NT29 server now. The temporary permissions appear to be working. User perms are being set now.

Some info on the new NT29: it is running Windows 2003, has twice as much memory as the old server, and has a faster SCSI controller. All application directories have been recreated from the old IIS and as many certificates as we could get have been recovered and installed.

Anyone that is still experiencing an issue with NT29 should submit a ticket to support.
