I just got a call from a customer of mine. They are having the same problem.
Has anyone opened a new trouble ticket? Is the server getting slammed, or what?

Aaron has responded my ticket half an hour ago:
"I restarted the virus checker that was causing some SMTP timeouts. Are you still experiencing problems?" It has been working fine for me since then.

Well, that's all well and good, but what caused the virus checker to freak out?
Is this going to happen again in the next day or so? I don't mean to be a pain about this, and I know the admins at vortech are on top of issues like these, but mail5 has been having some heart burn lately.

Interesting. I issued a ticket about the same problem yesterday and was told they could not find any duped emails in the specified email account. Well that may be because my client is configured to check every 5 min. and they were all (some up to 30) in my inbox.
