That's stupid. I can't believe that some one would actually kill because of spam. Why haven't we heard of the owners of the various Visa card companies getting beat down? They spam with paper.

I heard that Russian gangs use email spam to intimidate businesses into paying protection money... protection from spam, etc.. if they don't pay, their online businesses get hammered until they cave in or go out of business.

On a related note... anti-spam legislation at work
Last week MS got a $7 million judgement against one spammer and AOL got a $13 million judgement against another one. The AOL spammer had to give up anything he bought with proceeds from spam activities. AOL is having a lottery to give away his Hummer and other toys.

In the past 5 days I've had 6 spams hit the PC for my primary personal mail account that's been around since 1995. Prior to that I was getting 5-8 per day and a year ago it was 20-30 per day.
SA set to delete at 4.0 and "spam learning" turned on as it's an imap account.
