Corrupt characters when massmailing..
I just sent out a mass email and i have several apostrophes in it, for example," it's "
However they come out like this: it’s Also Don't = Don’t What gives? I pasted it from Word 2000. ![]() |

yeah... check your character types... sounds like you mailed it as ASCII but word is using Unicode (UTF-8 or UTF-16)... it's all very confusing I know! How can there be a standard format, if there are multiple "standards".

Better to use a diff tool. Also test...test...test

note also that MS Word is a terrible place to copy from. There are multiple characters that aren't what they appear... for example your apostrophe in Word is likely a curly apostrophe and not a straight one (which is web standard). UTF-8 is ideal if you're creating an HTML message.
If you are sending an HTML, or multipart (html/text) it's best to use a wysiwyg editor to generate the message(s). In the end it really comes down to what app you're using to send. A home brewed script or a pro app like ListManager will require very different sources. |
