Mailing List questions
Howdy ho. Have some questions about the mailing list facility. Searched the forums and faq with no luck on these..
1. How do I get a report of the current list of subscribers to a mailing list? 2. How do I know which subscribers are "bouncing" because of invalid email addresses? 3. How do I add the subscribers' names as well as their email addresses to the list when I do a "batch add"? Is it in the form "Name <mailbox@domain>" or is including their names not possible? 4. Is it feasable to allow someone to subscribe from a web page instead of sending an email to "listname-subscribe"etc? That is to say, can I write a script which will add their name and address from a submitted form? Perhaps using the MSXML object to make a HTTP POST to the mailing list app? If I think of any more q's I'll add them to this thread. Cheeeers!!

antic, on point 3, it is definately possible to do this, but you have to do it a round-about way (no POST allowed that I know of). All you have to do is make a script that sends an e-mail impersonating the user that follows the subscribe format (I think it's "subscribe" in the body, right?)
MY question, is how many users can this thing support? i.e. should I recommend it for a list of 500? 1000? |
