just curious if that short downtime was the PIX installation, and if it went as planned?

Yes, that was it however it didn't work AGAIN so we are back to the way we were. From what I understand, Brad is planning on another attempt next week later at night so they have more time than 5 mins to see if they can get it to work. Once the date and time have been set I am sure he will make an announcement.

We are going to plan it at 12am or 2am we are also going to get a cisco CCIE in there to see what its doing so they can fix it right on the spot.

Everyone that looks at the config is just lost as to why its not working. Its about as simple of a firewall as you can get right now..

Man, there have been many nights like that where it turned out the problem was just a partially bad cable.

Make sure you test a few.

No we had some look over the config, they said it looked fine as far as the pix and the routers go..

i am not sure if i ever heard anyone say a pix setup was easy i did a tiny little 501 in my office and i was ready to pull my hari out... it is still not really working right i can't visit sites on our little server with their external addresses... something about level one versus level two routers... whatever the heck that means...
