The Posting Contest

Since Brangwyn is about to pass Brad in posts and he doesn't have any competition in the posting arena I suggest a win by acclimation.

Yea Brangwyn is for sure one of the top runners.. But we want to make it far for every one new and old..

We also have a few other systems here as well so we may do one a month or something so everyone can get a little something..

When this "contest" started I thought "Why not just give it to Brangwyn and save the bother?"

Perhaps the next contest will be a little less predetrmined.

does this mean that if I bribe Craig with $50, he'll add a couple thousand posts to my number?

I got to thinking that I'll bet Brangwyn is some 8 year old college graduate with a masters in nanotechnology

It really does need to be done in a fair manner, I'd actually feel pretty bad getting it just becuase I had the highest post count becuase that doesnt always mean my contributions been any more or better than others with a lesser post count.

LOL I'm 33 if anyone really needs to know ... but I brought my first home computer when I was 7

what is that like a home and computer all in one, im sure they would have been about the same size? i think my first one was when i was 11...i think... but that was only 11 years ago

If its taken from the people who have helped the most in the forum and then just randomly drawn then thats pretty fair.

iirc my first PC was something called The Wizzard, basically a fore runnner to the Spectrum, Second PC was a VIC20, then a C64, then a handfull of Amiga's and I think a Mac at one point in time too. The original Home PC's were actually pretty small (probably becuase 2K of memory doesn't really consume that much space), companies dropped the "home" bit off the name a long time ago was a marketing ploy becuase 15 years ago people only thought PC's were something used in big fancy offices

While not quite as antique as Brangwyn's first computers, our first was an Apple II back in the early 80's I think - after it ended up in my garage, I finally gave it away a couple of years ago. My mom found the original receipt for it, and I could not believe what that POS cost her way back then. Well, maybe it wasn't a POS in it's day, but several hundred dollars for a 64kb upgrade sounded outrageous to me

hehe I remember buying back in around 1990 an external Floppy Drive and a 512Kb memory module for an Amiga500 .. cost me about $1200 NZ for the two of them. Mind you I think the A500 set me back nearly $3,500
