Yes, everything seems to be working well. Thanks again for your part in helping me verify my settings. You helped not only with this issue, but your help also got me much more familiarized and confident in handling the HSphere control panel.

The only issue I did notice is that the user's CP File manager, the webshell for Unix, doesn't load when selected in the control panel. Not a biggy, as I rarely use it. But I'm wondering if any one else hosting on a 'nix box has noticed the same issue after installing the CP SSL.

Welll, back to work! And thank you Matrix for getting this fixed!

Hi. I will be buying a SSL cert this week. I was reading this forum about setting up the temp one till I get it installed.

Is there still the issue of the cp locking up, or is it OK to do now? Should I expect a delay in being able to access the control panel for awhile once I do it?

I did not experience any problems. My cert worked right away.

Made it to step 1 of the first instructions posted in this thread, and got this message.

"CP SSL Manager
HTTP SSL support is unavailable on this CP.
Your plan doesn't have Reseller SSL feature enabled."

I'm checking out the other options areas now, to see if I can enable this myself, but the CP server is incredibly SLOW this morning. Strike that last comment - just found out CP is being worked on right now...

But I still haven't found the other SLL options... will keep checking; no need to repond...

Does the ssl cert have to be registered to cp.yoursite.com or just yoursite.com for this to work? How do I get a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) in order to buy a ssl cert?

You need to go to the Admin CP, go to CP SSL, and then it should allow you to generate a CSR, and it is for cp.hulahost.com(?) only. For secure.hulahost.com and others you woudl need another ticket, or a wildcard.

Ok about to go buy my cert... one more quick question. If I secure cp.hulahost.com is there any way to use secured custom images or will i be stuck with the default? (when an image in the cp is not from a https source it gives the "some parts of this page not secured, etc" Also while I'm talking to you guys a weird thing happened today... all of my windows plans dissapeared??? Any one know how or if they are recoverable?

when you secure the control panel, your custom images must be in a secured directory as well.

you would have to purchase one for cp.yourservicedomain.com - if you mean shared as in a Matrix shared SSL cert, there actually is no Matrix shared SSL cert. available.

Nope no shared SSL, I think there coming out with some kind of new shared SSL as well I think its in our version but I have not tested this yet.. Its for shared SSL not shared CP SSL..

We could have a shared SSL cert for hsphere.cc and it could be used all the way down to end users if wanted.. But it would show hsphere.cc if it was used.. Some more like it some may not..

Have not had time to test it as of yet so not even sure if it works.

Before ssl, we need to change to dedicated first.

Just a question, will my service domain get down for sometime when i change to dedicated?

yes, your domain would go down for a few hours.

Brad, sorry to come so late to your post a week ago, but would you be willing to offer up your shared SSL cert, so that we at least have the option to enable it on our end?

I ask because I've been trying since last time PSoft promised that 'Shared SSL for resellers' worked to get it to work for my clients - Stephen even helped me a bunch to get all the way to adding another zone for the domain I was going to use. I was almost successful, until it was found that no IP tag was available. Yet another empty promise from PSoft.

Anyhow, back to the shared cert. Is that a possibility you'd be willing to offer up? Would it cause a browser to warn a user that the cert didn't match the domain name? Or would it somehow alias itself to the users domain (or show hsphere.cc for their url like I think you said)?

Thanks!
