ezmlm warning
Does Vortech have a system such as ezmlm warning when an e-mail address is not valid?
This was something one of my users got. I would assume his e-mail was possibly down, just want to make sure someone has not already aquired the e-mail address. Thanks Craig -----Original Message----- From: membership-help@lfas.org [mailto:membership-help@lfas.org] Sent: Tuesday, November 04, 2003 9:44 PM To: Heller, Richard L (Rick), CFTAX Subject: ezmlm warning Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the #######@##### mailing list. I'm working for my owner, who can be reached at #######@######. Messages to you from the membership mailing list seem to have been bouncing. I've attached a copy of the first bounce message I received. If this message bounces too, I will send you a probe. If the probe bounces, I will remove your address from the membership mailing list, without further notice. I've kept a list of which messages from the membership mailing list have bounced from your address. Copies of these messages may be in the archive. To retrieve a set of messages 123-145 (a maximum of 100 per request), send an empty message to: <########@#####> To receive a subject and author list for the last 100 or so messages, send an empty message to: <######@#####> Here are the message numbers: 2 --- Enclosed is a copy of the bounce message I received. Return-Path: <> Received: (qmail 98350 invoked for bounce); 22 Oct 2003 18:47:42 -0000 Date: 22 Oct 2003 18:47:42 -0000 From: MAILER-DAEMON@mail3.hsphere.cc To: ######-@###### Subject: failure notice Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail3.hsphere.cc. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. <###########>: Sorry, I wasn't able to establish an SMTP connection. (#4.4.1) I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long. |

Isn't that a built in feature of ezmlm ? after x bounces it can remove a users subscription from the mailing list also. I've not used ezmlm here at vortech but when I've set it up at other places it would do that.

I don't know. That is why I posted here! I have not seen it before. Just wanted to get a clarification. Maybe tomorrow I will check the system.
Maybe some other input before I get to do that though! Thanks, |

Maybe you can find a bit more help here
http://www.psoft.net/HSdocumentation...ing_lists.html or here http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/infosys/mail/qmail/ezfaq/ |
