We are very interested in this move as one of the reasons we choose to work with you was for your Cold Fusion Hosting services. We have only started to move our customers over to your systems, and eventually plan to move hundreds more over. Our clients need Cold Fusion hosting services, and many of them use ASP or PHP in conjunction with Cold Fusion. In addition, Cold Fusion and .Net are becoming more and more intertwined... Not having .NET abilities on the CF Server would be a real downfall. As a systems admin I don't really see the point in not including .NET, ASP, and PHP support since these are free to setup. In addition, if you are installing all of these services on Windows 2003 it's very easy to get this up and running.
Please, whatever you do, support the three things listed above ... It's critical to the services that we offer and would hamper us greatly! |

...so...when will this move take place....or what´s your forecast?
We can't wait to pay $5 for CF I guess, in the end, that's the only sustainable argument for everyone's approval...really... There's been a little silence from Vortech...and I'm sure you're not lazing about...and you want to hear everyone... But we need some refreshing news Thanks |

It will be about a month or more before we get this going, still need to get the servers in and setup before even getting close to this but, we will give a good notice before doing any thing.
I think we will have CF MX, .net, asp on the servers every thing else will be off. No FP, PHP or perl.

I think this is a very wise decision. That will probably have a few hiccups in the beginning, but will benefit everyone in the end. I would even be interested in taking this a step further. Will it be possible to add Flash Remoting to these servers? I do alot of dynamic flash sites and this would be a huge help...This and Flash Communication Server would allow me to use Flash MX to it's fullest capabilities. With only using 1 or 2 servers for ALL CF sites, I would think this would be a no-brainer...very cost effective.

I think php is important to include tho. Would prefer that over asp. Are you going to take a vote on what resources to support or allow?

I agree about PHP. It would be nice to still have access to the PHP bulletin board and the O Commerce module through CF sites.
I can understand if it is a pain in the arse to do it, but it would be nice. |
