Problem pls help.
I have this new website under the vortech server http://www.sme-travel.com .
It works under a strange cgi thing.. ( i know nothing about cgi programming) and the developers helped me install it on my pc so as to know how to do it on the server. I asked from vortech support ticket system to do the same steps i did so as to install it on the server. first they had to make the /pegasus/bin folder executable and then to create a temp folder under the c:/winnt . That was the only thing i did on my pc (win xp pro). On my pc it works fine. On vortech it is been over 90 hours and the website still has the same problems. You get to see the main (index.htm) page, but all the links and the data that is been shown by the cgi (.dll, .exe) files are never shown. Vortech support team insists that is a dns mater, but that seems to be a bit ..... while if it was a dns mater we wouldnt be able to see anything and not just parts of the page. What can you see from this website ? What do you think might be the problem? What should I do or say to vortech about it to get fixed cause it cant be a dns issue. Thank you. |

I'm hesitant to offer help because I own a travel agency. (grin) Looking at your path's, it looks like everything is where it needs to be however, without knowing how the Pegasus Web Edition dll is porting to your data source, it's entirely possible it's a DNS issue. (If you in fact have execute permissions enables on the Pegasus/bin directory.) If it were me, I would request assistance from the software vendor. They will tell you quickly why the cgi is not working.

Just so you're aware... CGI is not fully supported here on the windows side... for instance mail will not send through cgi as they don't have the mail stuff even installed.
You should probably set this up on a nix box. I had nothing but problems with a CGI script on windows so I ported to ASP ... the only other solution is move it to unix. That may not even be possible as you seem to have an installer/process that is windows based... ![]() |
