any more details?

1. All at once, or one at a time?

2. Estimated downtime for each?

3. Are you doing this now or at a scheduled time?

4. Is this SP4 or something else?

Thanks

One at a time, Downtime should be minimal, Right Now, This is for a security patch that was released today.

just curious, are you having a hard time getting NT16 to take the patch? I've noticed the other NT machines come back online quickly, but NT16 has been down for some time now.

Thanks

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change the new "Under Construction" page. I'm glad my clients' site visitors have *something* to look at if there's an outage or scheduled maintenance, but my clients' sites are NOT "under construction"... This is an incorrect and embarrassing message to post as the default page... You really need to say something like "we're performing scheduled maintenance on our servers. Please check back shortly..."

You can also review an old post of mine where I explain this and some more concerns with this new page you're using:

http://www.matrixwebhosting.net/foru...&threadid=4690

In short - It's critical that I have an accurate reporting of the current server status and that my customers' site visitors see a more accurate (and professional) explanation of the site's condition during outages or maintenance.

Thanks

It looks like NT9 is having "issues" with the update, we have someone going over to the datacenter to look in on it, it should be online shortly. We’ll update the situation here when more information becomes available. For the time being the server is offline for all services, we apologies for the inconvenience.

I don't believe there is any 'under construction' page available if the server is totally down. Is it when it's booting back up, before ASP or any other services are available, that it defaults to that?

tkraffty,

Do you have friendly error messages or something? If I remember properly last time a restore was beign done it WAS different than :under contruction" but as has been said, when a server is rebooting it doesnt serve up any pages.

Hey how about just a 404 error... that way the people will think its a dead link... if this is the worst thing you can rag about, y'all must be spoiled, 80 percent of the hosts play loose and fast with the truth... at least everyone here is upfront.... Hell I had another one tell me that the government took the servers down because of the bombing in Iraq.. he said it was all over the news...

We are fortunate to have dedicated people working on our behalf..

Hoorah!
