DNS propgration most likely, they've got a cached entry for www in their local cache or ISP's cache.

Althought not exaclty the same issue i have had several uses add new domains to the system and not working, i later found out that the defualt A records where not being created. Worth checking out if the site is not loading.

I had one of them the other day too, at the time there were issues with that server so I just put it down to that, though I also had a real hard time the other day changing some DNS records so perhaps there's something up with one of the nameservers?

It has been happening to me on every new UNIX account for approximately the past month. It has not been happening for WINDOWS accounts.
Time to open another ticket. |

Is there perhaps something in the code that's redirecting? the base URL for sites under HSphere is the domain name, the www is only an alias and this can cause some software to have issues .. perhaps it's a PHP path issue? is this a Unix or Windows hosted site?

Check your joomla config.php, make sure the base URL for the site includes the www in it.
